HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Hollidaysburg Area Public Library is considering dropping a $550,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture loan after a discussion with borough council on Thursday over its much-delayed building project.
The discussion centered on who would own the library and stipulations connected to a $575,000 Keystone Grant for Libraries it is using to help fund the $2.45 million project.

USDA gives loan for ND farm equipment building
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U. S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a $740,000 loan to help build a new farm equipment dealership in Ashley.
The loan was given to KEM Electric Cooperative Inc. to help LaMoure Equipment Inc. construct the new building.
USDA says the loan was one of a dozen given in nine states. The money is intended to spur economic development and to create or save jobs in rural areas.

AGCO receives $740000 USDA loan
JACKSON — Since 1990, Federated Rural Electric of Jackson has offered more than $3.6 million in low- or no-interest loans to help businesses in its territory become established or expand.
The latest benefactor of the program is AGCO.
Officials with Federated REA and USDA Rural Development on Monday presented AGCO with a $740,000 no-interest loan for up to 10 years. The loan will be directly applied to a major expansion project nearing completion on the AGCO Jackson campus.
