I'm not an expert on 401K but I do have one. I think you would not be able to remove your entire vested balance because you would have to pay off the loan out of that amount. "Vested balance" roughly means how much of the money in the account

When m,y house was repossessed they sold the house for £79,000 which made a £35,000 profit would my debt that was secured to the house of £14,000 be paid off with the sale and wil I recieve any money back?

WASHINGTON - Congressional partisanship scuttled the latest attempt to prevent student loan interest rates from doubling and piling more debt on 7 million college students, including 177,000 in Massachusetts, who already face tall odds to find decent jobs in a still-bleak economy.
On Tuesday, Senate Republicans blocked a Democratic proposal to keep so-called Stafford loan interest rates from rising to 6.8 percent from 3.4 percent on July 1, when the interest subsidies are scheduled to expire.

The lender said Tuesday it has begun mailing out letters to customers who may qualify to have their home loans reduced as part of a multistate settlement over alleged foreclosure abuses.
