    Public Records Reading- Mortgages, Do home equity loans show or just reverse and second mortgages?

    I read public records when doing RE research so I'm wondering. I guess that only second and reverse mortgages show. And why would someone choose a second mortgage vs home equity loan?
    Are we saying that a home equity loan automatically shows as

    all mortgages and liens against a property are available if you go to the court house and research the property. and usually people take second mortgages when they already have a first mortgage and a home equity loan is really a second mortgage .

    Yes you can. It's the number of HOMES that is limited to two, not the number of mortgages.

    10% Down Investment/Second Home Mortgages.?

    Anybody know of any banks that are offering mortgages on second homes with only 10% down?

    I know recently the banks have now been allowing this, but just want to ask around. Thanks for you Answers!

    About a year ago, Bank of America was offering 95% financing on second homes with no MI. You had to have some sort of special account(s) with them to qualify, but if you were able to maintain a farily good balance in a checking and money market account,
